While the illustrations are absolutely beautiful, the book lacked diversity. It centered around mostly people from the United States, I think that the world has more to offer than just the US. Other than that, I learned a bit about other women that I had never heard of. Also I found that sometimes the summaries were to short. On some occasions the author left half the page without content, I mean you had the space to write more, so there isn’t really an excuse. I don’t know, this books promised a lot and fulfilled very little.
A powerful book which sheds light on inspiring yet unknown women. Very worth reading, indeed.

10/10 Stars. Such a wonderful book! I only wish there were more than 100 women listed. Perhaps the author will come out with a volume 2. It's a must read for everyone, briefly covers 100 incredible badass women, just enough info to whet your appetite and send you searching for more. Even reading just a page about each woman has me so inspired, they all bucked the system, the status quo, and changed things for future women forever. Remarkable!

Biased, questionable information that barely hits the tip of the iceberg on these women's lives. The first woman listed isn't even a real person (her bio made me wonder if she was a last-ditch effort to make the list an even 100? There are so many other wonderful choices that could have been included instead...), which brings about the question: what is the author hoping to convey through the writing of this book? Hopefully the message isn't inspiration because quite a few of the women in this book are not ones that should be considered role models by any sane person, liberal or conservative.
I'm not quite sure what happened with several of the paintings included either. Most of the art is lovely, but some looks rushed or unfinished (for those of you who have a copy, flip to page 194 to Sally Ride's portrait and you'll know what I mean).
One glance at the bibliography and you can tell the research contains questionable sources as well. It appears the author relied quite a bit on Google to gather information with little thought toward the validity of the sources cited.
This is not a book I would recommend. For anyone. It is unfortunate that the cover seems to be geared towards children. I would never read this to a child.

This book would be good for children as a way to spark interest and further research, but it only provides the most basic information about the women represented within the book. The format and number of women talked about makes it so each one only gets a couple paragraphs about them, which makes it difficult to retain the information. At one point, I accidentally reread a few chapters without realizing until the end, despite having only read the book the day before. Reading about more than one women a day also made it harder to remember the details about each. The chapters about women I already knew about beforehand seemed to be missing a few (what I considered) important details.
Overall, this book is a good introduction for the topic of women throughout history, but far from complete. Perhaps someone who is better able to remember what they read when not given a lot of information will appreciate this book more than I did. If nothing else, I still know more than I did before, and I can continue to use this as a reference.
Also, the art style of this book is very nice.
