This might be a classic case of reading it on audio vs a physical book. The narrator's voice didn't fit the author or her writing style at all IMO, and it only got more distracting as the book went on. While I enjoy memoirs told through essays, the book started off strong and then trailed off into a different direction. I might pick up her other books because I like Jami's writing, but I was left wanting more.

I feel like I’ve been in therapy with Jami Attenberg and I liked it!

Enjoyed reading a favorite author’s life journey - especially the saving grace of our shared city, New Orleans.

Listened - quick - funny - found myself drifting off a few times, may have been just my mood @ the time. Would want to maybe go back and reread a physical copy - lots of quotable moments and since short - may improve rating to read it, narration was enjoyably done. Definitely interested in checking out other works by her.
