I read this after my son read me a few funny excerpts while he was reading it. My first DOWK book. So hilarious! We had a similar experience on a recent road trip in a nasty hotel. No wonder kids love these books!

I'd have to say this is one of my favorites in the series! It was hilarious, super cute, and full of craziness. I like that it took us out of the usual school and home situation and on to a family road trip filled with "adventure". Many parts reminded me of roadtrips with my family while I was growing up... but of course it was all taken to the extreme. These books are great!

9yo's favorite books right now, so of course we listened to them in the car for our trips. 8yo doesn't mind them either. And David and I think they're charming.
