Don't even ask me why, but my inner child always wants to read this series around Christmas time. Still love this series, and was a great time reading this instalment. A whole hour of laugh-out-loud corny, childish goodness.
A bit too much went wrong, but it was still really enjoyable!

Ik heb The long haul van Jeff Kinney gelezen. Dit is het negende boek in de Diary of a wimpy kid serie. Ik vond deze minder goed dan andere delen, omdat het allemaal wel erg slecht ging met de personages. Het werd een beetje te veel op een gegeven moment. Nog steeds wel super leuk, dus voor deze 4 sterren.

My eight year old son is a Wimpy Kid fanatic. He's been asking me to read them with him, and when I got his this book for Christmas, I decided to get this one a try.
And....OK, OK. I get what all the fuss is about. These books are remarkable and funny and absolutely perfect for eight year old boys.
Still, I'm a thirty-seven year old woman. So as much as I enjoyed reading this because of my kid, I'm not likely to pick up the rest of the series. Until my three year old grows into them, at least.
BTW, here's my eight year old's review of the book:
"This was the best Diary of a Wimpy Kid book so far. It was even better than Rodrick Rules, which was my favorite until The Long Haul came out. I loved the Beardo family."

I read this on recommendation from a storytime mom who normally hates Wimpy Kid, but found this one funny. If you've ever had a disastrous road trip, you'll probably find it funny as well. :)

Perfect read - I needed something light to make me laugh and this did the trick! Great book in the series.
This was fun! I laughed several times. A whole book about a Heffley road trip, was a genius idea. And the piglet made everything even better.
