The fourth book in the series, as the final battle is approaching everyone is scrambling to prepare. Percy and the gang must brave the Labyrinth as Luke’s forces prepare to invade.

This one is part one of the finale, as close as the calm before the storm can be, the final run up before the Great Prophecy can come true. War is etching closer and Rick’s writing makes you feel that. You’ll end this book immediately wanting to read The Last Olympian.

I wanted to read this series as I have seen it everywhere and I’m slightly disappointed in myself for not picking this up when I was much younger. However, as a 23-year-old reading Percy Jackson for the first time, I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

This book still follows Percy Jackson. He is the son of a Greek God, and he had his share of near-death disasters and now his arch enemy Luke wants to invade the camp via an ancient labyrinth. If Luke succeeds, thousands of bloodthirsty monsters will attack. Annabeth is leading this quest with Grover, Tyson and Percy. So, it’s goodbye sunshine and hello darkness as the four of them descend into the terrifying underground and beyond to try and stop Luke before it’s too late.

I enjoyed this book. I think it’s better than the third book, considering I felt like the third book felt like a filler. This book went completely 180 from funny bants with a few issues to a major issue with real feelings and trying to be a teenager and getting stuck between his feelings. I love how the world is getting built with the action like you don’t feel behind and you know what’s going on with how Rick Riordan has a way of describing things in such a youthful way. I enjoyed this storyline and how Percy is growing up and you can feel the pressure of him and the nerves of him ruining everything and fearing the prophecy.

These cliff hangers are becoming meaner and meaner, it’s making me want to grab the fifth book and finish this series, but I also don’t want to finish this series, ever.

P.S. If we lose any major characters in this final book, imma lose it.

I loved this! The build up to the battle is insane. Everything about the labyrinth is so cool, the changing, the locations, the interesting challenges and monsters! Definitely a step up from the previous, I love them as well, but this one just hits it out of the park in every aspect!

The hold up of the 5-star is the Percy and Annabeths whole ordeal when she's mad but wont say why and Percy doesn't understand anything. I love to read about their friendship/flirting not them fighting and not telling each other important things.

Also love Nico and Rachel as well but Nico, my bby!!!
