Started off strong, went downhill the further into it. The content was dark, but that wasn't the issue. There were many topics explored, none of which I felt like got the time they deserved - everything lacked depth. Sure, the whole point of a romance book is the romance, but if so many "dark" topics are going to come up, I think they should be explored more rather than just relying on a surface level romance that i barely even cared about. You can have both romance and depth of other topics.

Things I liked:
- the ending was cute.

Things I disliked
- major instalove. To the point where I actually thought I had missed some chapters.
-random time jump that was completely unnecessary imo
- "I've fallen in love with the devil" 20 times - it's not that deep (because this topic was barely even explored other than the guy MC complaining about how he hates himself for being a killer many times. Maybe this would've benefited from being dual perspective).
- pure evil villain character. Listen, I love me a good villain, but this character was so one dimensional and doing evil for the sake of evil. That "plot twist" at the end? Come on. Again, maybe I would've believed it if things had been explored deeper.
- the female MC's aversion to touch completely healed from one long forced hug session. Ok then. Didn't like how she relied on the man to "fix her."
- in general, the depiction of trauma wasn't handled very well. A lot could've been discussed but instead I felt like many dark things that happened were just purely used as "drama" for the romance. It would've benefited from exploring a couple of things more in depth rather than just packing as many shitty things happening in as you possibly can because then it just feels like drama for the sake of drama.
- topic of grief - brought up in the beginning and at the end, barely even mentioned throughout the rest of the story. A lot could've been explored here that just wasn't.
- most of the time i do not like pregnancy in romances so that's a personal preference rather than a critique.
- i did not know going into this that the female MC would be a minor for most of the story and not sure how I feel about that tbh???

Tl;dr the whole thing just lacked depth in my opinion
