I will preface this with, please read the trigger warnings. It is definitely a mature read. I absolutely devoured this book! I love the content, the context, and the characters. H.D. Carlton just never misses. Her writing style draws so much attention. I have read the book and listened to the audiobook and they're both perfection!

Good overall storyline.  I do plan to read the concluding sequel because this ends on a cliffhanger and I need closure.  Settled on 3/5 stars though because consent is always mandatory, even in BDSM and Kink culture.

The whole first half was hard to read, and I feel like this book was a lot of telling instead of showing. The way her recovering from the abuse was weird and off putting. I just didn't love the book and thought it could have been better written with more care put into such a sensitive subject like sex trafficking and PTSD. If you are going to read definitely look at the content warning before doing so, it is very graphic at times.
