Good read

I always enjoy Nicholas Sparks' novels, although I haven't read them in a while.

Content: scattered profanity, no violence, no explicit sex scenes. There is loss in fire, and that could be a trigger for some.

Buku ke 5 yang kubaca dari Nicholas Spark. Ceritanya lumayan bagus tapi juga ga bikin greget banget.

Pertama-tama sebel banget sama si Taylor Mc Aden ini, kok PHP in si Denise mulu.. Tapi begitu tau alasan nya yah bisa dimaafkan ^^

Denise yang seorang ibu tunggal muda, mempunyai seorang anak laki-laki bernama Kyle. Ia mengalami keterbatasan berbicara.

Pssttt:
Endingnya Happy kok yang ini ^^

Sometimes you just need a predictable story and a happy ending. This book did not disappoint.

Needed a mindless, cliche-filled read. This hit the spot.

Mostly blah blah relationship crap blah trust issues blah secrets. Blah. But an extra star for the twist near the end that I did NOT see coming, and for making me tear up. Nicholas Sparks seems to have a gift for that. :)

2021 Pop Sugar Reading Challenge-a book you see on someone else's shelf.

the first half of this book started out strong and had promise. the second half and ending absolutely enraged me. Poor Mitch was killed (sacrificed) just to give taylor character growth. Judy took all the blame for taylor's ptsd on herself for not dating after her husband died. How ludicrous. She probably should have sent him to counseling, but I'm still not going to blame her for all taylor's problems. He's 36 for crying out loud.

I don't think Denise was the best mother in the world and I feel like that's what he was trying to portray. I'm willing to suspend disbelief and go ahead and say that her speech therapy would work when it doesn't sound to me like it would. I have no knowledge in that area, so fine. But, she's living in near poverty when the father has enough money to at least float them $200 a month without noticing. She let her pride get in the way by not suing for child support even though that would have helped Kyle to have better more nutritious food.

they mentioned in the book that his problem seemed to be auditory. Along with speech and oral language therapy, why on earth did nobody think to try sign language? they made it clear that they thought the problem was understanding the spoken word either due to a disconnect between the ear and the brain or completely in the auditory portion of the brain.

Also, she conceived Kyle on a one-night stand with a guy she just met that night, doesn't date again until taylor and is in bed with him within a couple of weeks and expecting to get married by the end of the summer.

It was a fine easy read, the beginning was exciting but the story that followed was fairly slow and not very eventful. Didn't hate it, didn't love it.

Predictable, but still a good, easy read. I can see why people like Sparks's books.
