Loved the art but the story reads like some kind of brochure for visiting Puerto Rico.

Although I enjoyed the Puerto Rican milieu of this book, that isn't what really captivated me. The best part of this book is the ease with which it trades in the emotions, both melancholic and heart-warming, inclusive and alienating, associated with close personal relationships. This is a book about friendships, lovers, fear of failure, and anxiety about legacy. I also happen to think it is very engagingly illustrated. While the adventures are pretty standard "investigate the bad guy and discover his secret" stuff, they're told with a brightness and joy that is infectious and a delight to read. A really fun short volume on the FF.
