This was the kind of book I needed, just to float in a space for a short while

"I remember that absurd and true sentence: He will always be my father."

*bangs pots, screams, rolls, rattles the cages, jumps, lives, die, etc.*

I love books that don't follow typical narrative or writing structures so I was really excited to dive into this one. I think the reason I was drawn to it, my extensive history with standardized testing, was what ultimately turned me off of the book. I found myself, particularly in the last section, reading to find meaning quickly and skimming through to reach the questions rather than slowing down and appreciating the prose.
