Isaiah was safe. No one in the world could make me tell them what had happened at that cabin in the mountains. Because now, I was his wife.
It was the first time in a long, long damn time I’d truly been at ease. She did that . . . She’d made this a safe space. For us both.
Isaiah looked in the mirror and saw everlasting broken pieces, but maybe my broken pieces would fit with his.
If my heart left her breathless, then hers gave me a reason to breathe.
Day by day, I was falling in love with the lie.

Wow this book was so so good! Unlike the first book in the series, Steel King, Riven Knight really delivered on both fronts the romance plot line and the murder mystery plot line. I am a sucker for a marriage of convenience story and Genevieve and Isaiah’s was no different. I loved the progression of their relationship, how they slowly built trust and supported each other. Genevieve was so kind as she helped Isaiah come to terms with his past. They were a couple you really rooted for. At the same time this book continues with the unresolved murder mystery from Steel King- and boy was it a doozy! I can’t believe we didn’t get answers until the last chapter but it was all worth the wait. I am loving this series and can’t wait to continue on!
