Wow this book was so so good! Unlike the first book in the series, Steel King, Riven Knight really delivered on both fronts the romance plot line and the murder mystery plot line. I am a sucker for a marriage of convenience story and Genevieve and Isaiah’s was no different. I loved the progression of their relationship, how they slowly built trust and supported each other. Genevieve was so kind as she helped Isaiah come to terms with his past. They were a couple you really rooted for. At the same time this book continues with the unresolved murder mystery from Steel King- and boy was it a doozy! I can’t believe we didn’t get answers until the last chapter but it was all worth the wait. I am loving this series and can’t wait to continue on!
Graphic: Car accident, Murder, and Death
Moderate: Violence, Death of parent, Panic attacks/disorders, and Gun violence
Minor: Suicidal thoughts, Sexual assault, Drug abuse, and Kidnapping

Sometimes it feels like with the fake relationship trope, everything happens too quickly for 2 people who don’t know each other so I enjoyed slower pace of their relationship. Isiah allowing himself to be vulnerable with her and slowly accepting that he does deserve love Genevieve overcoming her anger to grieve were lovely to read. Some twists in this I didn't anticipate that made it exciting. I'm not sure where the story is going to go from here but I'm looking forward to reading the next one.
Moderate: Rape, Sexual assault, Animal cruelty, Panic attacks/disorders, and Sexual content
Minor: Drug abuse, Suicidal thoughts, and Suicide
