Isaiah was safe. No one in the world could make me tell them what had happened at that cabin in the mountains. Because now, I was his wife.
It was the first time in a long, long damn time I’d truly been at ease. She did that . . . She’d made this a safe space. For us both.
Isaiah looked in the mirror and saw everlasting broken pieces, but maybe my broken pieces would fit with his.
If my heart left her breathless, then hers gave me a reason to breathe.
Day by day, I was falling in love with the lie.
🛞 First person dual POV
🛞 Second in a series that can be read as stand alone; there is a through-line that’s easier to follow by reading in order
🛞 Marriage of convenience
🛞 Paralegal / Ex-con
🛞 Boss’ half-sister
🛞 Protective MMC; “Touch her & I’ll kill you”
🛞 Found family

The lies are adding up and the danger palpable, so she leans on the only person she can trust — the sullen stranger who saved her life — her husband.
🛞 Slow burn 🔥

I have to be honest, I wasn't expecting so much plot (which I loved).
Their relationship irs definitely a slow burn, they have to face a lot and it's really nice seeing how it took them time to come together and realize that they had each other.
Graphic: Death of parent and Kidnapping
Moderate: Animal cruelty, Car accident, and Murder
Minor: Rape

I enjoyed the small moments between Genevieve and Isaiah but there wasn’t many which I personally found annoying.
Also the reveal of the killer really came out of left field and was too fast. I wish more clues had been sprinkled throughout the first two books because I never would have guessed right.
Sadly this series has me too intrigued so I already have the next book downloaded, but if the pacing is the same… I’ll scream
Moderate: Death of parent
Minor: Sexual assault, Kidnapping, and Stalking
