The only problem with this book was that I stayed up til 5am to finish reading it because the previous night I tossed and turned a lot worrying about it.

The big climactic action scene that would have ushered the way to an epilogue in most books still leaves us with about two hundred pages to go because there was just SO MUCH TIDYING to be done. But, you know, wrapping up a nine book series is hard work. And really, when you don't know when you're going to get to visit these characters again, being able to linger is nice.
It appears Fitz may have actually finally *learned* some things. What's the world coming to?

This was a pretty good end to this trilogy, and to the story as a whole. The story is not as engrossing as others, but is more epic in scope, which was an interesting change after reading books with lots of intense, pressing events. Overall, I'd suggest Robin Hobb to people who like fantasy or long series, but not as a general author for people who like to read.
