The story of Charles, Duke of Orléans is told in great detail in this dense but worthwhile novel.
Even though it took me months to get through this book, I really enjoyed it from start to finish. I thought it painted a brilliant picture of 15th century France, telling a historical story in a way that was both interesting and informative. I often found myself doing research to learn about characters that were mentioned. A difficult, but worthwhile read.
