It took me a while to get into the story, the characters, or even the plot, but by halfway through I was so excited to see where it was going and loved how everything unraveled in the end. I didn’t even think I’d find any of the characters lovable but I enjoyed the dynamics they all had together and made me smile. A cozy whodunit for sure.

I liked the humor of the novel as there were plenty of quippy liners and despite having heard this novel had a lot of British humor in it (which worried me as an American that I wouldn’t get the humor) but it was still enjoyable. I think the ending was underwhelming and I got a bit loss on the details. However, since I need to read finish the second book for a book club, I will be continuing with the series (and I did genuinely enjoy my time with it)

The beginning felt slow and dragged out. Luckily it picked up some pace towards the end.
