Books hardly ever make me cry. This one did though.
Satoru takes in a stray cat and goes on a journey across Japan to find someone who can look after it for him. Through the cat’s eyes, we meet Satoru’s friends from different phases of his life: his best friends from elementary school, junior high, and high school. Nana the cat is a wonderful narrator and I loved hearing his love and loyalty for Satoru. The two of them made me feel nostalgic for my previous cat and mushy for the one currently in my life. I need more wholesomeness like this in my life.

Heart-warming and heart-wrenching at the same time, I'd highly recommend this book to anyone that has ever enjoyed spending time around cats. You won't be left unaffected, and you'll want to hug your cat(s) afterwards :)
