Overall this was a very good read. There was such good descriptions of mental illnesses and I especially loved the statistics and quotes that were inserted to develop the ethos. However, I think I was hoping to feel a little more inspired in the end than I did. Some other mental health related books left me feeling inspired but this one did not have that affect for whatever reason. However, I overall really enjoyed this book, it was a fast and wholesome read, especially for anyone who is trying to understand depression for a loved one!!

i personally think this book is better than the midnight library.

this has made me feel things more than the midnight library did. i know the book talks about depression + anxiety (in which matt haig has described them accurately + beautifully, without romanticising the struggles of having them), ironically the book itself didn't feel depressing to read. His words (& existence) are living proof that there's light at the end of the tunnel, that it really is worthy to stay alive + truly live.
