An alternate ending for all the girls that were never heard, My Heart is A Chainsaw is more than just a horror novel. The lake is deep, and full of unexpected twists that will keep the pages turning. My heart was broken, given hope, broken, and then given more hope.

I love Jade Daniels and I want nothing but the best for her.
I'm personally not a slasher fan, but I love horror and wrote a few college papers on slasher tropes and the theories behind slashers and why slashers are popular. I loved being able to read this without having to think to hard about the things Jade was talking about, because I already knew them too, and it all made sense. For someone that hadn't done research on slashers, though? I can't imagine them being able to read this easily.

But anyway, I love Jade Daniels. I love this book. I can't wait to read the next.

The writing was awful. The storyline wasn't too bad but I didn't care for the ending.

Loved the characters, especially Jade, they're all so well-written and impact the story and Jade herself throughout.
The ending though not really a twist did feel like it fell a bit flat, and although I loved the end chapter and the imagery it invoked, it felt tacked on. The book already had a solid end before the forest fire, so it seemed strange to add this in last minute. Felt like SGJ either had to trim this to fit or added it on late when he realised it was a trope he hadn't touched on yet.

I love stephen graham jones!! Hit it out the park again with this one, with a character so incredibly delusional you can’t help but hate her at first, until you realize how perfectly he has written her to deliver us into the story. This one is blood and guts and laughs and some cries for sure, and i feel like Jones always somehow reaches that extra level of writing where he can grab onto something so abstract in his character’s thinking or etc and pull it into the pages, idk how to explain it but just read it lol (.5 stars off bc we were denied some answers)
