it was all over the place or my attention span was just hella scattered. One minute, I understand her and the other, I really don't. Very unreliable narrator and info dumps(?). Got 13% in and i wasn't intrigued enough to keep going. I was bored, pushing myself through the chapters and frequently looking at the page number to see how much I have left. All red flags that this is a DNF for me

This was a slow burn. Way too much introductory period that it was hard to keep going. I was intrigued enough to push through and I am glad I did. The ending was all the blood and gore I was expecting the entire book jam packed in the last couple chapters. It also had an unexpected twist. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
