A lovely short read. A glimpse into a time and a place distant but close. Loved it :)

I cant escape him. All i think abt is Stefan Zweig. His writing is insane.
The symbolism and the recurring themes are so interesting bc theyre like perfect for the description of the turmoil people might feel when accepting themselves. The ending was perfect and very real yk. Theres none of that fairytale magic bs where everyone gets together and has happy ending. Thats one of the reasons i like zweig so much, his stories are like tales of woe and yet are so comforting.
