Didn't do it for me. I usually enjoy her jerk heroes who betray and deceive the heroine. A lot of it had to do with his "cause" or, rather, his lack of one. A corporate takeover? Really? At least the jack ass in Loving Evangeline was trying to protect secrets having to do with national security. I just wasn't feeling it all around, ymmv.

This book is overall, okay. I liked the premise but some of the personalities and responses seemed insincere. I could understand how one could fall in love quickly and how the other wouldn't realize that it was love they were feeling, however, I don't understand how everything could/should move so fast.
I felt it was unrealistic to except a woman who has been married and scarred by the lavish life of society, who rebuilt herself as an upstanding, solid, and independent working woman to give up everything (including independence) for a man. AND then find out he's a part of the aristocracy in England. Somehow that doesn't seem plausible that Max didn't see her shrinking back after all of that.
