Little Red Riding Hood flies a mean spaceship, and she’s on the tail of her missing grandmother with the help of a mysterious street fighter named Wolf in this series of sci-fi fairy tale retellings that continues the story started (once upon a time) in Cinder. These books are so fun, action-packed, and clever.

I loved this book. At first I was mad that it kept switching from Cinder’s perspective but I grew to love Scarlet’s story too. I hope to get more insight on Carswell in future books. It was a bit predictable like the first book in the series but that didn’t take away from its charm. Wish we would’ve gotten Iko a body finally. Excited for how the next book is gonna tie in another protagonist!

Scarlet was a really good, action-packed sequel to Cinder. Did it remind me a little of the second instalment of the Twilight series? Yeah, kinda. But I have to admit I’m more #teamWolf than I’ve ever been #teamJacob (don’t get me wrong, I considered Twilight pretty good when I was a teen). I’m a sucker for fairytale references/retellings and it was a really interesting take on Red Riding Hood. Solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me. 🐺
