As River Song is one of my favorite doctor Who Characters, I was really excited to read this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. In my opinion not all of the 5 short stories were at the same level, but overall it was a good book.

I think all 5 writers did a great job in capturing River's funny comments, while keeping her strong character, and in the stories where the doctor showed up, his description definitely fit his 11th incarnation.

At some points I needed to look up some words as the writers used some words which are very British, and not so well known to people from other countries, but since it was only a few times it didn't bother me.

I truly wish this book had been longer, and recommend it to any Doctor Who fan who loves River Song's character.

Doctor Who: The Legends of River Song is a collection of various short(ish) stories about the popular character:

Picnic at Asgard:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cute! River's main theme for this story was a bit random though. Good other than that.
Suspicious Minds:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Loved it! Creepy bug lover lady vs. Elvis Presley the Auton!
Gamble With time: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Not my favorite, but interesting.
Death In New Venice:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Wow! Loved this one! A gated community for the rich is being built. One so illustrious that it will make everything the inhabitants imagine come true. Everything.
River of Time:⭐️⭐️⭐️
Strange story, but not the worst. River is allowed (not that it matters to her what the Governer says) out of Stormcage prison to assist another Professor to understand a discovery he has made.

I absolutely loved this. River is my favorite character besides the doctor so of course, I would love this. All of the stories were great but there was definitely some ones that stood out.

This should have been my 100th book, not my 101st. It was a much better book than what my 100th ended up being. Oh well. I guess numbers don't really matter.

I love River Song's storyline in the show, and these five short stories really encapsulated who she was as a character without giving detailed explanations of events in particular episodes. That being said, you pretty much had to have seen all of seasons 5, 6, probably 7, and maybe the 2015 Christmas special, The Husbands of River Song (which coincidentally I kept mistakenly calling this book) because all these stories at some point discuss a giant spoiler for something crucial in the series.

Anyway, my favourite stories were probably 2 and 3, Suspicious Minds and A Gamble with Time, if I had to choose, though number 4, Death in New Venice was pretty good. Oh, and this was definitely my favourite quote:
"I re-entered the world of conciousness to see a bald man looking down on me. My muddled thought processes went 'Sontaran? Silence? Jean-Luc?' until my head cleared and I realized it was Elvis."

I just finished another Doctor Who book where it mentioned Star Trek, maybe this is a common theme.

I loved the first three stories and the last two I thought were overly violent and not really accurate to River's "voice."

A delightful collection of stories about River Song by different authors. They get her voice & humor down very well and it was an enjoyable quick read.
