I wish there was more history and less culture commentary. But it was an overview. I think I was expecting more like deep moments, but it was just a overview and informative. Not quite sure that it's fair that I'm disappointed because it wasn't bad. But it wasn't what I thought I was going to get either
This is a tough one for me to review. Firstly I don't want to be lumped in with the negative transphobic reviews on here and I very much appreciated the trans inclusive definition of bisexuality. Secondly, I appreciate this book exisiting and I can see how it could be helpful for someone new to bisexuality or the queer community, or someone trying to be an ally. However for me I unfortunately just didn't enjoy reading it. There wasn't much in here that was new to me as a seasoned bisexual and as it's written in a more scientific matter I just didn't find it very engaging. That's not to say it's hard to read, it's not but I just personally didn't find it very enjoyable. I don't like negatively reviewing queer literature and it's not that I would never reccomend this book, I just don't think it was for me. 2.5/5

I picked up this book after realised it was an area which I needed (and wanted) to understand in more detail. I have a number of bisexual friends and loved ones and I wanted to be as educated as possible. This book is fantastic - really informative and well structured. I really liked how linked it was with research and recent studies - but also that it included personal accounts/ experiences as well.
