listened to the audiobook in hopes of it being similar to my dark vanessa. both obviously had similar themes, obviously mdv was able to get deeper into the story, but i loved this one and the narrative structure and devices that were used. i felt for jo, and even though it didn’t give me the same emotional punch as mdv, it’s a different book than mdv, and it’s a really good, fast read
