To my great disappointment, it was just boring. The story is not fleshed out. There's too much going on, so there's a lack of focus. The characters are one-dimensional and lackluster. I also grew very tired of reading that Irene said something in "The Language". What IS the language?! If you're going to rely heavily on a secret language, at least figure out what it looks and sounds like! I really need to find a better book about books.
