I wasn't too impressed with this book and actually surprised that it was made into a mini tv series.

DNF @ 16% because this book was so confusing and I had no idea what was going on at any point in time. I wasn't enjoying it and really couldn't spend another minute reading it (guys I really tried, I read this during my whole 12 hour shift).

Such an emotional roller coaster! I'm watching the show too. The book is very different from the show, but not in a bad way. Never expected the ending.

Oh my goodness! This was not the best book I ever read which is why I gave it four stars but it was so good. I spent a lot of time working out details that really meant nothing, another reason for only four stars. Otherwise, a great read, great main character with a storyline that kept you wondering until the end. I cannot wait to compare it to the tv series.

In all seriousness if I could give this book a negative star I would.

What a weird, disturbing, yet brilliant novel. I've never read a book that made me feel like I, too, was going a bit insane. Petra Hammesfahr's writing was so fragmented, which I think was meant to mirror that of Cora's brain and its memories; this fragmentation throws you all over the place, jerking you around, until the very end.

Highly recommend, especially for anyone who enjoys a good demented, psychological trip.

If you don't like unreliable narrators that are downright unlikable at times, take a hard pass on this book. If you're willing to spend time with one, it's a psychological study of how much burden one person can take before they crack.

Loved the parts where she reflected on her past & childhood, but didn’t care for the police questionings & investigation which was the entirety of the book :/

Unfortunately I watched the tv series before I read the book. I didn’t know it was based off of one. It was a great read and already recommended it to a friend. Since I knew the ending I wasn’t so surprised at the little pieces revealed about Cora’s past.

The rare circumstance where a TV show or movie is better than the book. this was so f***** up
