Cute and fun with a side of steam, Shut Up and Kiss Me is a solid second book in the Happy Endings series. It’s light and sweet and is the perfect book for when you’re looking for something that will simply make you smile.
Nolan and Emerson have been friends for ages and have a thriving YouTube food review show. Both want more for their foodie careers and even get the chance to further themselves by winning a YouTube collaborator contest and then having a streaming service pick them up for a show. However, there’s an undercurrent of desire between the two of them that they’ve once acted upon years before and then find themselves revisiting when they’re in Vegas working with their collaboration partners, the very fun Dot and Bette. This story traces two best friends and co-stars as they go from merely that to something else altogether all the while trying to make it big in the food-show business.
I loved how Nolan and Emerson played off one another. I’m a big fan of friends-to-lovers romances, and the way these two characters were written made this book so lovable. They’re both adorable in their own rights, but together? It was like cuteness and chemistry overload. They’re two parts of a whole, even though neither realize it exactly for what it could be, and their banter both when they’re doing their show and in private was so fun. I found myself grinning throughout this book in the best way.
Something else I really enjoyed about this book was that it wasn’t just a one-note romance. There’s the deeper sense of both Nolan and Emerson needing to find themselves and figuring out how to navigate through life and what’s been thrown at them on separate levels. Their individual journeys added another level of interest to this otherwise sweet story of two besties finally figuring out what was pretty clear to others.
With characters this cute and a plotline that will keep you entertained, this is definitely a fantastic addition to this series. I loved the sassy teasing and the underlying tension, and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Shut Up and Kiss Me had all the things I love about author Lauren Blakely's romance novels- a darling heroine, a swoony hero, a unique premise (the hero and heroine are long-time friends who film an online restaurant review show together), witty banter, and sizzling chemistry. It all seemed so real and fun, I wish I could actually watch their show! As usual, there are super-fun side characters. Fellow foodie show stars Dot and Bette are a hoot, and Dot's granddaughter/business manager is a riot. I didn't want this one to end!

Lauren Blakely graces us with a flirty foodie friends to lovers romance that left me hungry for more Emerson and Nolan. I adore this book and this couple. With its fun innuendos and top notch banter, Shut Up and Kiss Me put the biggest smile on my face. It also further justified my stance that the forced proximity/one bed trope is superior. The longing, the passion, the tension, this book had it all.
I really liked Emerson and Nolan together. Co-host on an online food review show, they balance each other out wonderfully.
Their chemistry is evident on and off the screen. When an opportunity arises to take their show to a streaming service, they work harder to make it happen. Growing closer, sharing secrets and kisses in the process.
As I said, I adored this book. Easy to read, red hot chemistry, lovable characters, Lauren Blakely delivers another delightful read that's not to be missed.

Shut Up and Kiss Me is the second book in the Happy Endings series by Lauren Blakely. This is a fun, sexy, best friends to lovers story that had me laughing out loud, swooning and made me hungry. Nolan and Emerson are best friends who do a YouTube show together, How to Eat a Banana. It's a food show full of innuendo and fun and they both love what they do and have fun doing it. They get an opportunity to take the show to New York and that means a lot of togetherness. All of a sudden the sexual tension is off the charts. But getting their show to the next level is more important than taking their friendship to the lover zone. But it's hard to resist the person who makes you laugh. Who looks at you like you're their next meal. The attraction is just too much to ignore and they give in to it. But was it just one night or can they make it work? Is there too much on the line to get involved with your co-worker? I love this couple! Nolan is just so swoony with his glasses and his sense of humor. Emerson is fun, smart and sexy. I'm really enjoying this series and all its characters. I can't wait for them all to get books!
Audio: Jason and Julia were so fantastic! I love them together and thought they were the perfect Nolan and Emerson!

I’m from the Louisiana and food is our love language so I knew before I started Shut Up and Kiss Me that I would absolutely adore Emerson & Nolan. I mean what’s better than food & sex?!
Shut Up and Kiss Me is like a big ol’ Louisiana crawfish boil on a Saturday night! It’s filled with good food, good friends and family and just the right amount of spice;) mmm mmm mmm ça c’est bon!
Fave quotes:
“And you? Well, hello there, Clark Kent,” Bette says to Nolan. Ever the gentleman, he takes her hand and kisses the knuckles. “Pleased to meet you. If you need anyone to leap a tall building in a single bound, I’m your man.” Bette chuckles, warm and exuberant. “And I do believe I’ve died and gone to I’ve-been-charmed heaven.”—-y’all Dot & Bette are the cutest old ladies! Friendship goals for sure!!
I won’t focus on my overactive imagination that wants to straddle Nolan and ride him cowboy. Ride him cowgirl. Ride him till the cows come home.—-like I said just the right amount of spice

Friend to lovers is a favourite of mine, so this was right up my alley.
Nolan and Emerson are foodies and let’s be honest who is it. I love that they have a YouTube channel that they’re trying to make a success but they never lose their friendship. Even when feelings become involved and they both want more but they don’t know how to go about it. Oh man the sexual tension, the chemistry flies off the page.
I was rooting for these two from the very beginning.
The narration is fantastic both narrators give you exactly what you want. They make you feel the story.
