Abulhawa is one of my favorite Arab American writers. She brings so much to the table when it comes to MidEast conflict and the Arab experience, especially what it means to be Palestinian in the throes of war and displacement over the course of generations. This is a deeply researched family saga that will give you a more well-rounded perspective of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict.
