I wanted to like this. It had everything in it that usually attracts me.
And I’ll be honest they writing style is easy to listen to/ read.
But the story.
~minor spoilers ahead~

Over the centuries the main character is reincarnated and you get to live each of those reincarnations, all 7 of them… plus the story jumps from the character in modern day and back to previous incarnations. The idea is so you can learn about her love with 2 men in each time period the repeats every life. It’s a great idea.

But this book just falls flat for me. I ended up about half way through when I decided I was done with it. I found there was such a focus on the past lives that you learn little about the modern incarnation, and in turn care little about her. Plus the past 2 incarnations so far have made me say ‘so what? What was the point?’ So many times that I just couldn’t care for them.

Then let’s not forget the love interests guy 1 is an ass in all the incarnations so far. He won’t/ can’t tell her anything. So really just comes off as a condescending asshole. Then the other guy only seems to want to possess the main character and once that happens he keeps throwing her away. Either guy is all the interesting and neither guy makes me like them.

I tired to like this story but I just couldn’t. I gave it till 1/2 way through the book and it never improved for me. So off into my DNF pile.

I greatly enjoyed this rich narrative of multiple lifetimes catching up in one woman's soul, and a love worth dying for...again and again.
