Such a brilliantly-written book. A fascinating look into the world of bees, but probably more importantly, a thrilling reflection on humankind and what lessons we can learn from the Hymenoptera (yes, I learned that word from this book).

I really liked the bee-specific parts, as he follows the life of a hive through the year. The world of the bees is fascinating. But the book suffers from long gusts of very dated philosophizing...
