I really couldn't say what it is about these books that I like so much. The characters and most of the relationships are quite dysfunctional. Perhaps that is precisely why I do like them, though. The twistedness of everything seems to really hold my attention. Because it is all so crazy and whatnot, I think it makes it harder for me to anticipate what will happen next and thus enraptures me more.
This sequel really isn't what I would call a romance. The first one was a romance, but this one deals more on the relationships the couple has with those around them. I'm now really excited to see what will come in the third book.

I don't know. I have a mixed feeling about this book. While i love the first book so much, i cant say the same with the second book. When i read this book, i always forgot that both main characters (and almost all of the characters) are a high schooler in their 17-18 yo. That was because all of the sex part in this book, i think xD

****I was provided an ARC copy in return for an honest review.****

Thankfully my passion for all things Tijan makes this the easiest damn review I've ever written. I'm pretty sure my favorite past time is kissing the ground she walks on which, I know, makes me sound crazy but she's so damn brilliant I can't help it.

I've been waiting patiently (and sometimes not so patiently) for the sequel to Fallen Crest High since I read it back in December. It was my first Tijan book and the book that sparked my obsession. And finally I got my wish. My dream. To have my eyes on the sequel, Fallen Crest Family before it even released. I'm pretty sure I can die happy. Gees I'm making myself sick.

This day might've been the hardest day of my life. Then I thought about it, nope. I had a lot of days that sucked.

So immediately I'm back in the lives of my 4 best friends, Sam, Mason, Logan and Nate and the drama is high. Analise and James are incredibly unhappy with the living situation between Sam and Mason. Their attempts to try and stop them from sleeping together have been unsuccessful and it causes Analise to go off the deep end.

"I can't promise what I'll do if your mom fucks with our relationship anymore. If she ruins this..." Raw desperation slipped from him, but it was mixed with a deadly warning as well.

Analise and James have kicked Mason and Logan out of the house, and forbid them from seeing Sam during their winter break. Analise threatens Mason's future to keep Sam away from him and goes to all manners of extreme actions to keep them at a distance from each other. Her behavior causes Sam to have some flashbacks from her childhood that are intense and traumatizing, keeping Sam terrified of her mother.

I was nothing. I had always been nothing. My mother tolerated me because I came from her. I felt like her. I felt like I had conned Mason into loving me. I had conned Logan into protecting me, but it was all a lie. If they saw inside of me- how I was the dirty spawn from my mother- would they still stand by me?

There is so much drama in this book. The dynamic between Analise and Sam. Where are David and Garrett? How will Nate moving back to town effect the relationship between Logan and Mason? What's going on with Tate? Is Adam still trying to get with Sam? Why did Becky disappear? Is Logan still playing with Miranda? What is happening with the Academy Elite?

"Don't kid yourself, Sam. Nate's not here for you or me. He's here for Mason. If my brother wasn't so straight with you, I'd think those two were a happy gay couple."

And new people! Heather, The Broudou boys, Channing, the FCP Tommy Princesses, the girls from Mannys.

"You seriously still call us that? We're not princesses anymore." Then her eyes slid to mine and hardened. "We're more like bullies now."

So much goodness I can hardly stand it. I want to spill every secret from the story but then I'd ruin it for you and that wouldn't be fair.

I'll just say, once again Tijan has managed to write an incredibly intense, fun, sexy atmosphere that I want to just dive into and never leave.

I saw a lot of reviews complaining about how weak Sam had become compared to the first book, but if I had to go through what she did growing up and then I sure as all get out would be acting the same way. I love this group and I love this series! This is definitely one that I'm not able to put down. Highly recommended!

I absolutely loved this book. Loved. It.
Mason and Sam go at it like rabbits, and Logan never fails to call them out on it.
You learn more about Nate, yet he's still mysterious and confusing.
New characters that I LOVE. Heather is so badass, I wish I had a friend like her.
What made this book extremely interesting were the creepy flashbacks. Blood everywhere, death, fighting, and one traumatized 11 year old Sam. I'm totally a sucker for horror.
Healed friendships everywhere in this book, more enemies, and one crazy whore of a mother. Yikes. Summer just got a lot more interesting.
As for the ending, it was beautiful. I want friends to throw me a party like that one day. Speaking of which, those Kade brothers weren't lying when they told Sam the party would come to her. There's parties everywhere in this book; their summer was basically one giant party from hell.
Honestly, I can't wait to read about Sam's school year in Fallen Crest Public.

I was going to wait for my library hold on Fallen Crest Family to come available, but I just couldn't. I had to buy the Kindle book and add the Audible option because I needed to know what happened next in the Kade/Stratton family saga. I'm so addicted to this series already that it's not even funny.

Fallen Crest Family is the second book in the Fallen Crest High series. It begins immediately following Fallen Crest High, and continues Sam's story. Sam and Mason have been forced to reveal their relationship to everyone. No one is excited about them being together. (Well, except Logan and maybe Nate.) The person taking their relationship the worst is Sam's mother. Analise is willing to do everything and anything to keep Sam and Mason apart. Sam knows she's the only person who can put Analise in her place, but her mother is crazy and conniving. Poor Sam isn't sure she has what it takes to stand up to her mother.

Okay, so first I need to tell you that Sam's annoying man-ish voice from the first audio book did not appear in the Fallen Crest Family audio book. (Or maybe I just didn't notice it?) Sam sounded like a normal girl the entire time. Well, at least her voice sounded normal. Sam's not exactly normal.

Sam changed a bit in this book. She lost some of the hard edge she had in Fallen Crest High. She was a little bit more whiny and more sullen due to the new memories and living situation she was facing. That didn't really bother me. I felt like Sam's evolution throughout the story made sense, and that she'll continue to grow throughout the series. What did still bug me was her obsessive running. Did no one in her life find all this running to be a problem? Three and four-hour runs until she's collapsing seems extreme. The only thing positive about it (maybe) is the possibility of a track scholarship. Oh, and I have to mention her obsessive lusting after Mason, too. I wish I would have kept a tally of how many times she mentioned she was wet. It felt like she said it at least once a chapter. I'm probably wrong, but it felt like it was mentioned a few too many times. I get it, girl. Your body melts for him. Not that I'm complaining about all the sexy times. I would never complain about that! ;)

I still don't know what's going on in Mason's head, but I don't care. He's such a rock for Sam. I love what he's willing to do for her. Same with Logan. He's like a big brother and best friend all wrapped into one. He loves Sam in his own way, and I love the words and humor he brings to every situation. I even found myself liking Mason and Logan's buddy Nate in this book. He surprised me with how much he was willing to go to bat for Sam. The four of them are like one big family.

All of the friends and nemeses were back to add to the fun of this story. Sam's main problem wasn't with her friends this time, but with her mom. That lady was bat$#!t crazy. I loved everything that was revealed about her in this book. Sam also made some new friends. Heather and the Manny's gang were amazing! I enjoyed what they brought to the story, and I can only imagine how they're going to influence things in the next book.

Fallen Crest Family was just as much fun to listen to as Fallen Crest High. I can't tell you enough how obsessed I am with this series. I am going to continue to binge listen to it until I finish all of the books. I've fallen in love with Sam, Mason and Logan. I want to know how their story ends.

so we're still going on five hour runs but we're adding sudden flashbacks, blackouts, and way more crying to the mix. got it.

When I say TRAUMA!!! I was not ready for the craziness of this book but Tijan did not disappoint! At times I was a little confused but the story just kept getting better. Once you get sucked in…it’s almost impossible to put the book down! I can’t wait for this story to continue!

Um...*raises hand* I would like to say right now that these books are such a big mess but I can’t stop reading them. Her mom is evil and the so called adults are all a mess and the main characters are all over the place. And honestly I put these books down as “beach reading” the kind of books hat you read and never go back to.

This continues on quite closely to the first novel, so much so that the first and second novel could be one book. So if you enjoyed the first - you’ll definitely love this one as much as I did.
