I feel like my rating is contingent on how the rest of the books go because it didn’t feel like a cliff hanger it felt unfinished but it was also long and i dont know if I can handle two more books like this

no rating as I DNF'd this one. i'm also counting this towards a book read as I made it to 80% which is ultimately most of the 550 page book!

I can appreciate that this is a good dark academia with a very complex way of story building. most people say that is definitely a character based plot which usually I enjoy, but unfortunately, I just found it really slow and I was not attached to the characters at all. I decided to DNF as honestly, I had no motivation or want to complete this book.

I absolutely devoured this. I love a character-driven story and these characters are DELICIOUS. “Dark-academia” often comes off a bit try-hard and self-congratulatory to me, but something about this one really scratched an itch.
