Oh man. I'm so in love with the Parasol Protectorate series.
I am fully aware that these books are not without flaws, but I enjoy reading them so much. The characters' reactions to events are sometimes a bit strange and improbable, that's probably my main problem with the books.
But still, the books are brilliant. There's exactly the right amount of action, humor, romance and sadness, so I just can't help but be a huge fan of this series.

I'm still enjoying this series about a stalwart, opinionated young lady from London whose life has been turned around by werewolves and vampires. I really had a good time with the second book, but the third one could have easily been part of the second.
There was necessary information in it to move the plot forward, and some intriguing things happen, but the rest of the story felt a bit flat. Still, Alexia is as wonderfully witty and resolute as always, even in the face of the (rather ridiculous) adventures she embarks upon, so I'll continue on the fourth.

Parasol Protectorate 3
Thrown out by both her husband and her family, Alexia Tarabotti, Lady Woolsey, is determined to find an answer to her surprise pregnancy, the first heard of between a supernatural and a preternatural. This search to prove her idiot husband wrong soon has her in danger of being killed by the vampires afraid of her child-to-be and the Templars in Italy who may be the only ones with answers.
Another exciting adventure that actually has two separate storylines, one centering on Alexia and her search, the other on the mysterious disappearance of Lord Akeldama and his drones. Extraordinary solutions for both, if a bit of sadness for the one set of characters. 4.5 out of 5, only because Conall was an ass.
