Gail Carriger doesn't disappoint in her third installment of the
Parasol Protectorate series. Picking up where the cliffhanging
Changeless left off, Alexia travels to Italy for answers. She meets a
delightful cast of characters along the way, along with some very
unsavory acquaintances. It's difficult to expand upon the plot line
without revealing too much, so I'll just tell you that Blameless is
fast-paced and action-packed, full of the clever wordplay and adept
use of vocabulary that endeared me to the books in the first place. I
simply could not put this book down and am eagerly anticipating
reading book four of the series, Heartless.

Again, not as good as the first one, but at least this one had a more satisfying ending than the second novel in the series. Good enough to keep me reading, probably not good enough to ever be one I'll re-read.
great steampunk novel. the main character is "souless" and her observations of the world around her are entertaining. the author's interpretation of werewolves, vampires and ghosts and how they are all inter-related creates an interesting world that keeps the reader wanting more.
Damn you Carriger for your witty and delightful weekend romp of a book. Not only fun, you manage to invest some real emotion and empathy in your characters. Sigh, now I have to wait again for the summer and the next book.
I most definitely liked this book a lot more than I did book 2. I honestly think that Lyell is my favorite character in the series. I am excited to read the next book in the series!
My favorite of the first three books by far. The addition of some really interesting lore + a plot trope that gets me every time.
Well. I don’t like Alexia’s stupid husband and I think he got off way too easily. I’m hard pressed to continue just because I feel a bit of the connection I felt to be severed. I love having a main character that I can respect and who stands tall for herself. The ending of this book killed that for me, unfortunately. Now she’s just another woman who turns to putty and lets herself be disrespected :(
3.5
Another fun and witty entry, though perhaps not quite as good as the others. Still, couldn't bring myself to give it anything less than 4 stars. I did still quite enjoy it - enough to finish it in two days.
I especially liked seeing so much of Professor Lyall and Floote.
Conall was forgiven too easily, but at least he realized how much of an ass he was and went to some lengths to make amends.
And, best of all, this one did not end in a dreadful cliffhanger, though there are quite enough thread to carry into the next book: what will become of Biffy, how will the Fangs react to the goings on, and what is the nature of the infant-inconvenience?
July seems so far away. I can hardly wait! I suppose I must have some tea to calm my nerves. It seems the thing to do. :)

On the re-read, the bits with the Templars seems a bit slow and draggy. The parts with Lyall & Co. where much more interesting. And I do still hope that Alexia gives Conall more grief in the next bok, because he really did get off quite too easily.
