Great ending! though there were a couple of slow and lost books in the middle, the last three, and this one in particular, were far more fast paced, on topic, and exciting, bringing a good end to a good series!

I really enjoyed this series, but I'm also glad to be done with it. I feel like the last 3 or so books strayed from what hooked me in the first place. Too much repeating plot points, magical theory, and philosophical rhetoric.
Didn't particularly care for all the one page cameos in this one, either.

The conclusion of the Sword of Truth series is actually a conclusion, which was
nice. The writing style was again poor, with even the dialogue reading more
as two monologues, with the characters taking turns paragraph by paragraph.
The plot was decent, though it had a few holes. While I wasn’t trying very
hard to figure out the ending, its bittersweet-ness was entirely predictable and
somewhat boring.
This series started out so well, it’s a pity that it fell so low by the end.

Like a TV show that has gone on for too many seasons, the sword of truth has gone on for too many books. The book is riddled with anti-climatic moments and with plot holes that don't make sense. The book ties up in the last 50 pages, the rest of the book is turned over to Goodkind lecturing on the evils of faith and how his viewpoint is the only 'right viewpoint'. Even leaving that aside, the biggest issue was the problem with Cara not being able to sense Richard when he came out of the world of the dead. The D'Haran's think that Richard is dead for the last 100 pages. Did this bond suddenly stop working? This bond has been a central point of many of his previous books, but all of a sudden it seems to have 'malfunctioned'? The death of six was very anti-climatic as well, occuring in the span of less than a page. For a central figure, I had assumed that she would be featured a bit more. It feels like Goodkind merely used the first idea that came into his head on how to kill her off, because he felt 'he had to'.
As someone who loved the first few books, to see the series reduced to this is sad indeed. The only upside is, although a new book in the series has come out, this is it for me. The saga is closed, Goodkind can have his universe, it is not for the likes of me.

Reread this one last week to see if my memory was it lived up to reality. Sadly it was even worse, started out as a strong series and ended up a muddled overly idealistic moralic tale.

Finally finished the sword of truth series, and in truth I'm glad it's over. The series really started to meander from book 5 onwards and the author's propensity to spend chapters at a time ramming his personal philosophy down the reader's throat gets distinctly tedious. Having said that, I was kept reading to the end of the 11 book series, so I clearly wanted to know how it ended, I just wish it had got there a bit quicker!

I have to admit, the last few books prior to Confessor in this series had me on the edge of throwing in the towel. While the central storyline was still interesting and held my attention, the blatant pro-capitalism preaching was very heavy and for me, started to become an annoying distraction. I'm happy to report that Goodkind didn't really carry on with that preaching in this book!
I loved Confessor! The way we get closure on the whole Chainfire debachle was just awesome! Now where will the story go? Can't wait to get on to the next book and see!
