This was a really fun read!
It didn't have a huge focus on the retelling aspect, but I loved the parallels. I also loved the talk about books and libraries. Our main characters were really likable and whole the plot was a little predictable, I enjoyed myself all the way through it.

“But there is so much more in those words than just loving books. I love the smell of them. I love the way their bindings look pressed together on a shelf. I love the feel of pages buzzing through my fingers. I love big books and small books. I love words and how they're strung together, and most of all, I love the stories. I love how books are not really just books at all, but doorways.”
I always loved Beauty and the Beast and I love to read all the different ways it has been written.
But, for me this book is genuinely my least favourite version of beauty and the beast. A Curse so Dark and Lonely was far better.
As a book it's great and worth a read but as a huge love of the enemies to lovers trope there just wasn't enough chemistry. The plot was, to put it simply, not there. There was no actual story going on. There was just this romance, I guess and very little complications. All of this makes it a comfort book rather than an intriguing one. Something to read if you don't want to read anything, which is exactly what I did.
The characters are well written but a bit dull. They kind of lack the uniqueness that one looks forward to. Rosie and Vance lack a certain spark that the characters of an enemies to lovers book have.
Rosie is a serious, hard worker who always believed that the evil villain played by Vance deserved a redemption arc.
Vance is rude and spoiled. He’s spent his entire life as one of the rich and famous and before being shipped off to the castle, he spent all of his time partying.
I don't care what that says about me but I like a bit of toxic characters but I can't stand those rude and spoilt ones. Vance irked me because of that.
To sum it up, if you want to read a simple and uncomplicated enemiesto lovers romance, this is the perfect book.

I am a whore for silly basic romances. This is just that cliché but that okay because that's why it was written.
I've always been a big fan of retellings and I when I read the synopsis for this book, I instantly put it on my to-read list. The other books in the series were pretty good, so I had high expectations. However, this book didn't completely live up to it. Sure, I enjoyed the modern twist on Beauty and the Beast, but the romance moved too fast for my taste. In one chapter, Vance suddenly realizes that he has a massive crush. Rosie realizes the same thing a chapter later, and then KABOOM! they kiss and fall in love. Not really my thing and that's where the 1 star goes. Overall, I loved the concept and how it revolved around a fandom, but in the end, it fell flat on the romance.
