wish i read this book when i was younger ;)

Disclaimer that I hate rating YA. I do love a Beauty & the Beast retelling in any form, not much else really needs to be there for me to enjoy it.

If this is the conclusion to the Once Upon A Con series I will be heartbroken, but happy in the way it ended. I didn’t think Vance could be redeemed following his stunts in the second book, but this beautiful book is about growth and finding yourself, and j am so glad he did. I am so glad he found Rosie, they definitely needed each other. I feel like it ended in a neat bow, which is what done series need. Five stars all the way.

Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite fairy tales and it just so happened that I actually watched both Disney and the Emma Watson this week without planning. I didn’t buy the book until Kindle had a promo going on for spend $30 and get eight dollars, so that was my oops story behind buying this even though I was technically in a book buying ban.

Bookish and the Beast by Ashley Poston was sooooooooooo good. I laughed and got those feels so many times in this book. It is fluffy and good and just perfect. All of the elements of Beauty and the Beast were there.

One of my favorite parts where was the “magic spells, daring sword fights. A prince in disguise” line was used. I laughed and cheered and did a dance during that line. And it also made me think that maybe Poston has more in mind for this series too. I HOPE!!

Anyway, the other elements we have are a Gaston character, Belle and the Beast. And I think possibly Lumiere? Of course they were all different names but it was clear which roles they were.

There was even a explosion like in the stories but of course that’s different as well.

I loved the fact that homecoming was one of the elements. The homecoming and the whole missing cell phone bit made me think of Cinderella and I figured out what was going to happen during that part easily but it was still good.

I did feel bad for the AP English class because they were reading Twilight, but that didn’t really mark down points for this book.

I just loved this book to pieces, it is now one of my favorite Beauty and the Beast retellings. It was as good as A curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer even though those are two different subgenres.

Bookish and the Beast by Ashley Poston might not work for you if you aren’t into the whole fairy tale retelling stuff, but if you are looking for one that is so fluffy that will make you cheer, laugh and feel some feelings then this book is for you.

Bookish and the Beast was a five star rating and I can’t wait to see what is next in store for this author!

I think I am too old for this book. However, honestly I hate plots that use convenience and exaggeration to help itself - and this book had oodles of it.
Both the leads were boring, stuck and uninteresting. Things didn't happen, and then happened all too suddenly. There was no chemistry, and the story was just so meh?
Hopefully, I'll be better in my book selection.
