Very enjoyable beauty and the beast retelling stuffed to the Gilles with references both to general sci fi and pop culture as well as B&B specifically. A lot of great call outs to the Disney movie dialogue. I did the audiobook and the female narrator pronounced Vance’s last name as “ree- gans” instead of “ray-ns” so that was a little odd, especially when we got to the ‘reign it in’ type puns about Vance. Also Vance’s narrator did a fairly whiney/nasally voice for Rosie which did not fit with her character or her own narrator so that was a little jarring. Otherwise the narration was great, especially the emotion that both characters were feeling was well expressed.
P.s. when are we getting the actual Starfield novels!

I liked it, I just feel like it needed more.

Had me hesitant to continue reading at the start. Kinda bland, but some interactions were funny and nice during about half way through the book or something. Third act breakup was lame as hell, but that fighting scene made me chuckle a bit. Everything after that moment was cringe. Overall, it was just semi-decent.

4.5
Been a while since I've read a YA/Fiction set in a high school. It was definitely weird considering I was working at a high school during the days I was reading this.
Great written voice.
Love the queer/bisexual/nonbinary representation.
