It was not what I was expecting and far too young adult. More like teenager.
Zero wymuszonych dialogów, wszystko fajnie, lekko i płynnie.

Cliche. Too many pop culture references a characters were eh.
this series is just my favorite thing ever. it's 100% nerd culture, more than i know even, and i love it for that.
The ending is a blur, I had to reread to know whether I read it yet it not
another chill book I’ve read. definitely enemies to lovers trope but not hardcore
Hello booknerds! its been a while since I read or finish a book and wrote a book review about. Anyway I’ve been waiting for this book since it was announced and I’m a sucker for fairy-tale retelling. So I actually haven’t read the second installment to this series which is the Princess and the Fangirl. But I guess it was fine to read it even though some of the characters from both first and the second installment has been mentioned in this book.
So let’s start off with the characters, Rosie Thorne the main female character met her dream guy on a comic con ball and she just can’t get her mind off him. Rosie was also struggling because her mom died and she can’t still move on about it. For me Rosie was just like Belle from “beauty and the beast” she loves to read books, she’s kind and beautiful and also a big fangirl of the fictional series called Starfield. Then we have our main male character Vance Reigns he was a total jerk in the story just like beast in Beauty and The Beast spoiler-not-kinda-spoiler he was the guy Rosie met in the comic-con ball. For me the reason behind him being a jerk towards everyone is very shallow and not very interesting at all. Yeah I get it that his parents are pretty busy and he’s a celebrity and he felt like he’s holding up the world and just want to be jerk to everyone. Then we have supporting characters like Rosie’s friends, her dad which is my favorite among all the characters and also Elias (Vance’s guardian) and lastly the villain/Gaston (oops I forgot his name) but yeah that’s it.
Then about the plot it was a very good retelling of beauty and the beast but very predictable. The writing style was definitely amazing and the story was fast pace but like I said it was very predictable and I found the ending somehow bland. I haven’t read the second installment to this series yet but I can’t help but compare Bookish and the Beast to Geekerella which has been one of my favorite YA contemporary book. Geekerella was very exciting to read because there’s like a thrill on it meanwhile Bookish and the Beast was very cliche and predictable. Its like watching your typical high school room-com movies. Again there is this popular/celebrity meets ordinary trope which I don’t mind at all as long its fun and exciting read, but this one was really boring for me. Also I loved that the author included some pop-culture on it like Star wars, star trek and some hollywood celebrities which made Starfield seems like a real-life tv series/movie. The book also included some LGBTQ+ representation.
All in all, I was still able to enjoy the book but again it was very predictable like every scene was very predictable and the ending too. Also some scenes in the book I found it very unrealistic and my 2015 self would still be a sucker for it but these past few months I’ve been reading some books that has realistic scenes or characters on it. For me Geekerella was still the best book in the Once upon a con series.

funny
hopeful
lighthearted
medium-paced
A perfectly nerdy/geeky and utterly wholesome Beauty and the Beast retelling that grapples with the big topics of grief, belonging, and self-esteem without sacrificing its joyful spirit. And did I mention the library?
