There, I finally read it! Everyone happy? Okay, okay, it was more engaging than I thought it'd be, and thanks to Morrison's mind bending imagination and well-crafted dialogue it actually wasn't even painful.

There are so many lines from this book that are just utterly ridiculous and just amaze me with how weird they are. The artistry is MAGNIFICENT for the actual Final Crisis issues (the SUBMIT and other two parts included are not as great looking) A very addicting story (to end all stories!). Maybe not as epic as Watchmen, but nearly as complicated and interesting. sometimes it does reach the borders of TOO WEIRD, but doesn't really break them.

Least insane Grant Morrison comic

What. On. Earth. ?!?!?

I picked this one up out of curiosity as part of DC's ongoing hardbacked editions of famous(?) stories and, honestly? I wish I hadn't bothered.

The 'Final Crisis' was on ongoing series arc across several different properties - Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, etc - prior to the 'New 52' and - I have to say - is everything that would put average Joe off superhero comics in that I found the story to be convoluted, pretentious, and making next-to-no-sense-whatsoever.

Avoid.

You can tell that vampires were in fleeting fashion around the time this was written.

This was definitely the best of the Crisis series by far. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that it was relatively easy to follow. There wasn't a whole lot of focus on parallel universes and Earths. There was some, but it didn't fully revolve around them like Infinite Earths or Infinite Crisis. This was just Darkseid being a crazy bastard like Darkseid does. It was a really fun story to read, and there were a lot of pretty big deaths. It was kind of awesome to see the whole world just be dismantled by an equation of anti-life. Some major heroes fought for the bad guys. Against their will, of course, but still kind of awesome. Overall it was a pretty great story, but there were a few things in it that were just plain confusing. A good read.

3.5

This is an overall excellent comic book event, great moments with Darkseid though it does get confusing at times.
