I. Can’t. Decide. How. To. Feel. I have decided that means the writing is good. It’s really hard to nail down what the magic even is. It’s really cool but idk what the rules are. Also idk what the motivations are of the characters for most of it. The world is really beautiful.

This book felt magical! I really enjoyed the writing
I couldn't put this book down--evocative description, intriguing concept, twisting and turning plot. While many of the characters were somewhat 2-dimensional, for me it added to the mystery of it all (the exceptions were the well-drawn characters of Bailey and Thiessen, perhaps stand-ins for the reader??). The ending while not predictable was neat, but I was okay with that. But I was left with some questions: one of them is "does Bailey's email work?"
