sometimes I read a book and wonder how on earth the author came up with the story and how it all comes together and this is one of those books. I liked this a lot but it doesn’t stand up to the starless sea for me. I liked the ending but I think I would’ve preferred something a little more final? I’m not sure. overall, a great book!!!
I cannot start by how much I love this book. I know this review is pretty late, as in 3 months late. But I'm starting it now so that's good aha (:. I'm forcing myself to write down the love that so hard to explain for this book onto goodreads.
First. The word choices were magnificent. So incredibly perfect. This book was literally perfect inside and out. I have never loved a book as much as this one and I haven't said that for any other book besides Unravel and this one.
It was exquisitely descriptive. I was literally devouring every word; word by word.
I LOVED the timeline and the historical period it took it. It was utterly amazing. I can't even, like, just ughhh! It's just SOO good.
Now the characters. I LOVED Marco. I loved his name too. I LOVED the Burgess sisters,, I LOVED Celia, I even loved Isobel even though i wouldn't because Marco at one point , but she made a great role into the story making it even better so basically, I love all the characters. Everyone was so important to the story. It is perfection.
At first the time thing, with future & presents & the whole date thing, it was like, going back and forth which was pretty confusing for me in the beginning to keep up with but i got it down after a few chapters and whatnot. I still love it so much though.
I'm ranting now, well, I have been ranting but it continues even more here. The scene when Marco first laid eyes on Celia. My heart flopped like a fish on dry land. Then the whole scene thing *wink wink* with Celia and Marco. FJDSKFJSDLJFDSJFDFSJSKLC MY HEART EFFING DROPPED TO THE DEEPEST DEPTHS OF EARTH. OMFGOMFGOMFOMGOFMG AHHHHH IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PERFEECT OMFGOMFGOMFOMGFOMGOFMG . K. done . omfgomfogmfomgomfg. AHHHHHHHHHHH. Kay. done . sorry . I'm fangirling . Can't help it !
