I really didn't like this book, to the point where I'm not sure whether I'll finish the fourth one. Literally nothing happened. The first half wasa conflict that was created and solved within 40 pages . The second half wasa super clunky tie in with the author's other series that made very little sense (and was filled with show not tell exposition) .
I was bored for most of the book, and found myself skimming the last few chapters to get it finished. My main hesitancy going into book 4 (aside from how much I disliked book 3), is that the main villain is boring. There are really no stakes / nothing stopping the main characters from killing him. They've made it pretty clear throughout the book that the MMC and FMC are significantly stronger than him, and all the reasons they've given for why they can't just kill him make literally no sense.
