It was a long slog of ‘s plurals and completely out of touch characters. There were characters who were clearly from different books that I didn’t care about and it felt like the author just gave up on writing techniques in order to force the plot to advance. The plot didn’t actually make any headway in the 300+ pages of drivel, but it sure did try.

3.4⭐️ out of three this was least favorite so far… though I liked the ending… just wasn’t as engaging for me as the first two and so much happening almost all at once… I do have high hopes for the last book… hope it will be good

I believe the storyline still has potential but the writing is very “tell, not show,” which is unfortunate.

I also think the “mare” concept was pushed way too hard, and very unnecessarily.
