This was a very exciting and fast-paced Jack Reacher book. In my opinion, the best since Andrew Child started writing with his father on this long-running series. Jack is in Colorado when he witnesses what appears to be an accident at first. A woman appears to throw herself under a moving bus. Upon reflection, Jack realizes that it was no accident, so he sets out to right a wrong. His search takes him across the country to Mississippi, and it appears that the conspiracy and the crime ring is more wide-spread and dangerous than he first thought. His search takes him to a prison in the heart of Mississippi, and the bodies keep piling up. A lot of the bodies are the result of Reacher himself. Along with the help of a grieving widow from Colorado, Reacher takes on the crime ring and cleans house as he goes along. Sounds like a normal Jack Reacher, right? Well, this is a bit more complex than that. The extent of the crimes, and the body count attached make this a full-scale operation, and the only one who can bring it down is Reacher himself. a complex operation that places Reacher and his companion in very grave danger. The story proceeds at a breakneck pace until the final seconds of the book. I really love this series, and can't wait to read the next one.
