Didn’t know how I’d feel going in but as soon as it was over didn’t know what to do with myself. Uncle freaking jake??? Wheeeew. If you’re into the taboo and ready for a whirlwind, this is for you:

Loved this book the only reason i’m giving it 3/5 stars is because the ending was predictable but other than that it was a great read!

This book was bad. I feel like Penelope Douglas had Tiernan end up with who she did just for the shock factor and not for any really good reasons.
Like sure let's pick Kaleb who wrote slut on her forehead in permanent market, tore up a project she was working on, humiliates her, calls her a whore, etc.
Then giving Tiernan her parental issues. Kind of wish I hadn't read this >.<

Tiernan's famous Hollywood parents double suicide so at 17 she has to go live with her dad's stepbrother, Uncle Jake, in a remote Colorado cabin with his 2 young adult songs, Noah who is 20? and Kaleb who's maybe her age? Noah is working to leave and strike out on his own. Kaleb has mental issues and doesn't speak. We learn that his mom locked him in a car for 4 days when he was 4 years old without food or water, he survived on drips from the leaky roof lol, and since then he hasn't spoken. The first time she meets Kaleb he just got back from spending days in the woods and he immediately tries to have sex with her because oops her underboob was showing. Even though she says no multiple times. Noah rescues her but later on they're all watching a porno together (wtf) and they all start masturbating together, but Jake breaks them up. Later Jake fucks her, taking her virginity and making her promise not to get with his sons. But when Jake goes away for a day she has double penetrative sex with both of them. Jfc. Jake comes back, it's not a secret everyone has had sex with her. Kaleb takes her aside for his own multiple times for sex. Eventually she chooses him to be with and there's like 1 line in the book about how she's an animal too or something.

In the epilogue somehow he's able to speak again and they have a baby together. Oh and Jake conveniently got with Tiernan's nanny/lawyer? Mirai. so the only one still single is Noah.

I am about 75% done with this book and will update once I've finished but I truly love this book.

With that being said. The only reason why I love this book and am not repulsed by it is because they are all not really related. Not blood related, it’s not like they grew up together as family calling each other cousin and uncle. Jake his her fathers non blood related step brother through marriage.

Is it weird? Absolutely and in my mind I'm like don't read this book. But my review is totally opposite because I truly enjoy it. Obsessed and I feel does not get the credit it deserves.

With that being said, I am making a prediction that she ends up with Kaleb and something happens to Jake. I really wanted her with Noah because I adore him but I do not see that happening.

———-update

Finished and loved it through and through. Was right about Kaleb and her ending up together. HE FUCKING LEARNED HOW TO SPEAK AGAIN FOR HER. ARE YOU JOKING! He practiced and I was screaming!

They had a baby! Noah finally left and pursued his dream of racing. Jake started a fling with Miari (if that’s how you spell it). Noah and Kaleb’s mom dying and then having the ashes was touching.

And rewind, Kaleb’s back story on why he doesn’t speak, that was heart breaking. Honestly a lot of the trauma in this book was heartbreaking. Both Kaleb and Tiernan. They were meant for each other. Even though she slept with his brother and his father but that’s ok.
