Everyone in this book deserves jail time …I’m sorry but I guess I’m the unpopular opinion that this book is icky. Trust me I don’t have a problem with spicy books and everyone thinks that’s where I’m having a problem either this.. no maybe it’s the incest. Before you come down my throat I understand they are “step” but they continuously throughout the book mention how they’re a family and how Jake is like her father and they are like her brothers but then not even a page after she has sex with all of her “family members”. The first part of the book is the worst part where she’s 17 and everyone in the town including her “family” are lusting over her like she’s a piece of meat. Please tell me I am not the outlier in thinking the entire concept of this book is uncomfortable and wrong and walking the fine line of incest. I do appreciate her writing style and the scenery, but it felt incredibly drown out and just off putting. I feel that I need to scrub my brain after this. I do not understand the hype, this is gross , if you want spicy smut maybe find something that isn’t about her and her family….

Bordering on incestual and kinda weird. All smut scenes are angsty and rough- some a little triggering. The men in this book and humongous egos and think they can control the main character just because she lives with them.

This book was probably the best book I’ve ever read hands down. The backstory and characters were so good I could cry. I literally fell in love with Kaleb and his story. I’m at a loss for words.

Look.... Penelope Douglas knows how to write smut she is the smut Queen for all I know but I just couldn't do the cousin/step-cousin thing. like she did it with all THREE OF THEM!!! How does that work? Like family reunions, everything knowing you've slept with all of them. I couldn't get around the Uncle thing as well that just disgusted me. Put that smut in any other situation though and I would have loved it, it was just the characters and the entire set-up of the story that I did not vibe with AT ALL. nevertheless, I did finish it very quickly and will continue to read her books on the basis that the rest don't have such incestial tendencies.
