Excuse me while I go sob
This was a great story. Something so traumatic turned Willow's world upside down and while trying to get through it she was able to move through the grieving process and find a place where she could belong. I loved how the people associated with Willow were moved to change. Those changes were gradual, and yet huge by the end.
This is a beautiful tale, that has touched my heart. If anyone wants a book to read I suggest this one. But warning: it's a heart wrencher.
I really enjoyed this book…. Until the very end. It felt deeply weird that Patti would force an untenable living situation on her children for essentially no reason. Knocking it down one star because the ending ruined the tone of the book for me
I read this book back in 3rd or 4th grade and completely forgot about it. I just realized that so many of Willow’s thoughts have still stuck with me today, particularly the part about looking up at an airplane and realizing that people in it have no idea I exist.
idr bc i read this when i was like 9 but i remember really enjoying it a lot
The book doesn’t really have a point, and is not very realistic. You could argue that this actually isn’t a very good book. Even so, i enjoyed it immensely. I enjoyed the writing style, and the way the main character thinks. It was a pleasant read (amidst a tragic situation)and a gentle reminder to be thoughtful & nice.
